Self-Defense Likely in Fatal Stabbing at San Mateo Storage Facility
Prosecutors told the San Mateo Daily Journal the stabbing death of a 33-year-old man in June may have been self-defense.
There's a good chance the of a 33-year-old man at a San Mateo storage facility on June 7, the city's first homicide this year, was an act of self-defense, according to a news article published by the San Mateo Daily Journal.
Police say Lockwood of Pacifica was found stabbed to death near at 2000 E. 3rd Ave. at about 1:30 p.m.
A suspect in the case has not been named, but a San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney told the Daily Journal that the only surviving witness claims the murder was self-defense.

“The only surviving witness said it was self-defense and a weapon belonging to the victim was found on scene,” Deputy District Attorney Al Giannini said Tuesday to the Daily Journal. “There is no evidence saying otherwise.”
According to the San Mateo County Times, prosecutors at this point don't plan to file charges against the witness.
