San Mateo Police Seek Public's Help in Finding Robbery Suspect

SMPD Officers were called to Little Caesar's Pizza in the 600 block of E. Third Avenue at just before 10pm Friday night.

The following is a news release from the San Mateo Police Department: 


San Mateo Police are looking for a suspect who committed an armed robbery last Friday evening March 7th.

SMPD Officers were called to Little Caesar’s Pizza in the 600 block of E. Third Avenue at just before 10pm Friday night. Investigation revealed that a black male in his mid to late 20s, about 5’10” with a stocky build, entered the store at about 9:45 pm, his face covered with either a t-shirt or scarf.

The suspect was wearing a long sleeved white t-shirt and baggy black pants, and was wearing black and white gloves while brandishing a black semi-automatic type handgun.

He demanded money from the clerk, a 19 year-old female, and fled with that money east on Third Ave.

The suspect appeared to be making a phone call on his mobile phone as he left the scene.  No one was injured in the incident.

Video surveillance captured the attached image of the suspect, however his face is obscured. Detectives are looking for any additional information the public may have on this case.

  • This incident occurred on Friday night March 7th, at about 9:45 pm
  • This store is located in the 600 block of E. Third Ave. just east of the intersection of Delaware Street and Third Ave. on the north side of the street.
  • The suspect in this case is a black male in his mid to late 20’s about 5’10 with a stocky build
  • The suspect wore a baggy white long sleeve t-shirt, black and white gloves (similar to batting gloves) and had a green scarf or t-shirt covering his face at the time of the incident.
