San Mateo Police Investigating Armed Robbery at 7-Eleven

The robbery occurred early Friday morning at the 7-Eleven at 501 N. San Mateo Drive.

San Mateo police are looking for a man in a skull mask who robbed a 7-Eleven inSan Mateo at knifepoint early Friday morning.

Officers responded at about 12:45 a.m. To the 7-Eleven located at 501 N. San Mateo Drive where the armed robbery had just occurred.

The clerk, a 53-year-old woman, said she was confronted by a white man in a skull mask, tan military-stye jacket and dark pants who threatened her with a large knife, according to San Mateo Police Sgt. Dave Norris.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen fleeing on foot south on San Mateo Drive from the store.

Responding officers conducted an extensive area check and canvass of the area, however the suspect was not located and remained at large as of Friday afternoon.

SMPD Officers and Detectives are continuing to investigate this crime, and are pursuing investigative leads. They are also working to obtain and evaluate any video surveillance that may be available.

The suspect in this case is described as a white man, about 6 feet tall and approximately 180 lbs. The suspect appeared to have brown hair, and was last seen wearing a tan colored military style jacket and dark pants.

The suspect wore a skull mask during the perpetration of this crime, and was wielding a large knife. A photo of the suspect in the mask from this incident is attached to this article.
