Crime Blotter 1/30-2/4: Mailman Finds Ammo, Tenants Trash Apartment

Highlights from the past week's San Mateo police media logs.

Sunday, Jan. 30

 2:36 a.m. - Domestic Disturbance -   A person reported that her mom's boyfriend was smashing things in their house on the 500 block of Delaware Street.

12:34 p.m. -  Single Car Accident / No Injuries - Someone crashed a car on the West Hilldale Boulevard and knocked over a pole at a parking lot entrance.

2:40 p.m. - Fraud - Someone on the 300 block of Avila Road reported the Fraudulent use of a bank account.

3:58 p.m. - Theft - A person on the 1800 block of Grant Street reported a stolen wallet and the fraudulent use of an ATM.

10:59 p.m. - Drunk in Publilc - Someone reported a drunken person on the 500 block of East Santa Inez Avenue, who was throwing things around and possibly on drugs. The caller wanted wanted the person removed from the area. According to police, the person was not carrying any weapons.

Monday, Jan. 31

9:24 a.m. - Fraud - A man on the 3100 block of Campus Drive came to police headquarters to report the fraudulent use of his bank account.

10:53 a.m. - Threats - Someone on the 300 block of North San Mateo Drive reported that an unknown suspect is calling the person at work and threatening the person by first name.

12:15 p.m. - Accident / Minor Injuries - A car accident happened at Third Avenue and South Humboldt Street, without major injuries.

2:56 p.m. - Theft - A store clerk called police to report that a man wearing blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt and a baseball cap, stole items ten minutes earlier and is now standing in front of a church on the 300 block of Baldwin Avenue.

4:17 p.m. - Illegal Dumping - Some people in an RV were reportedly dumping their sewage into a drainage creek.

8:08 p.m. - DUI -Police arrested someone at South Norfolk Street and East Third Avenue for Drunken Driving.

Tuesday, Feb. 1

12:18 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - Someone arrived at work on the 1100 block of North Amphlett Boulevard and found the back door open and at least one thing missing.

1:07 p.m. - Civil Dispute - A woman was reportedly refusing to check out from a motel on the 100 block of North Bayshore Road.

7:48 p.m. - Theft - Someone on the 200 of Warren Road reported the theft of some cash.

Wednesday, Feb. 2

8:23 a.m. - Civil Dispute - Someone called from a school on the 300 block of 28th Avenue to ask advice about family custody issues.

11 a.m. - Phone Fraud - A man called a woman on the 4200 block of Bettina Avenue and claimed he was her grandson.

12:05 p.m. - Suspicious Vehicle - A dark gray Honda Accord on the 100 block of 24th Avenue was reported as suspicious.

5:46 p.m. - Disturbance - Some men in their early 20s were reportedly throwing rocks at a passing train near B Street.

6:37 p.m. - Domestic Violence - Police returned a 911 call from the 800 block of Second Avenue and heard a child say dad was hurting mom.

8:31 p.m. - Theft - An iPod Touch was reportedly stolen from a locked locker on the 900 block of Alameda de Las Pulgas.

Thursday, Feb. 3

12:40 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - Someone on the 3100 block of El Camino Real called police to report a disputed over paying a restaurant bill.

10:09 a.m. - Civil Dispute - A landlord on the 4100 block of George Avenue reported that some tenants he evicted trashed their apartment before moving out. He told police his insurance company requires a police report.

1:42 p.m. - Theft - An iPod was reported stolen from an office on the 2000 block of Kehoe Avenue.

5:40 p.m. - Assault - Someone reported an assault on the 300 block of South Claremont Street.

6:05 p.m. - Suicidal Person - A man on the 2200 block of Palm Avenue reported that he wanted to slit his wrists and said he had already tried an hour earlier.

6:55 p.m. - Fraud - A man called on the 400 block of Norfolk Street called police to report an online fraud that may have occurred.

7:34 p.m. - Dead Body - Medica responded to the 3100 block of Casa de Campo on reports of man, unconscious and not breathing.

Friday, Feb. 5

1:21 a.m. - Reckless Driving /  Possible DUI - A driver on the 900 block of El Camino Real reportedly hit a parked car and looks to be drunk, but the reporting party could not see the car's license plate.

10:20 a.m. - Car Burglary - A woman reportedly dropped her keys and someone used to get into her car on the 900 block of El Camino Real.

11:46 a.m. - Domestic Dispute - A man and a woman were arguing in front of store at Hillsdale Mall and the woman repeatedly asked strangers to call the police.

3:59 p.m. - Residential Burglary - A man living on the block of 900 Norton Street arrived home to find his home burglarized.

5:01 p.m. - Found Ammunition - A mailman on the 600 block of 30th Avenue found a single bullet while making rounds.
