FBI Seeks Thief Who Impersonated Victims at San Mateo Banks

Public's help sought in finding man who entered several branches throughout region as an imposter to make withdrawals.

It’s been a year since he was last seen. Now FBI agents are asking the public’s help in finding a man who went on a year-long crime spree, entering banks in San Mateo, San Francisco and South City while impersonating account holders so that he could take their money.

FBI officials say the thief was last seen in March 2010. His crimes began in April 2009. He has also been linked to similar thefts in the Sacramento and Reno areas.

The imposter is described as a white man between 50 and 60 years old and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has a medium build and weighs between 140 and 160 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair, with some balding.
