Fatal Crash Closes Lanes of Highway 101 in San Mateo

The crash was reported shortly before midnight.

All lanes of northbound U.S. Highway 101 were blocked by a fatal collision in San Mateo early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

The crash was reported at 11:38 p.m. Thursday at Kehoe Boulevard.

A person was reportedly found in the roadway, and multiple vehicles were parked on the side of the highway to assist.

A Sig-alert was issued just before midnight, indicating a significant traffic closure. The CHP confirmed vehicles were passing on the righthand shoulder as of 12:44 a.m.
