Fallen Trees Block Hwy 1 Saturday Morning

A portion of Highway 1 in San Mateo County was closed for several hours Saturday morning.

A portion of state Highway 1 in San Mateo County was blocked for several hours Saturday morning due to downed trees, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both north- and southbound lanes of Highway 1 just south of Whitehouse Canyon Road near Ano Nuevo State Reserve were blocked when two eucalyptus trees fell across the entire roadway, according to the CHP.

The incident was reported at 3:34 a.m., and a traffic advisory was issued at 5:44 a.m.
