UPDATE: Southbound Hwy 101 Reopens in San Mateo

UPDATE 9:30 A.M.: All lanes of southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo have been reopened after a debris spill caused traffic delays Thursday morning.

UPDATE 8:58 A.M.: A severe traffic alert was in effect for U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo Thursday morning due to debris blocking southbound lanes, according to 511.org.

The traffic alert was in effect just before Poplar Avenue.

The two right lanes were blocked as of 9 a.m. for clean-up. Motorists were advised to expect delays and avoid the area.
