Local Senior Home Care Business Announces Plans to Hire Nearly 99 in 2014, Bringing Jobs to Region

Consider this – by 2050, the number of Americans aged 65 and older is projected to be 88.5 million, more than doubling the 2010 population. As the baby boomer generation starts to enter elder hood, many individuals will soon be faced with the responsibility of caring for their chronically ill, disabled or aging family members and friends.

With this growing population of aging Americans in need of senior care, demand now outweighs the availability of professional caregivers. To remedy this, the Home Instead Senior Care office serving San Mateo announced this week plans to hire nearly 99 caregivers this year, bringing jobs to the St. Louis region.

As a professional caregiver, team members will improve the lives of families in the community, restoring balance and peace to their lives as they care for their aging loved ones. Caregivers are able to maintain a health work-life balance with flexible scheduling, and no medical skills are required. Training is available through Home Instead® CAREGiverSM training program, where caregivers will learn all the skills necessary to enhance the quality of life of seniors by providing support that allows them to remain in their homes.
