Merle Kahn has been living in the South Bay for over twenty years and have been practicing immigration law that entire time. Merle has practiced immigration law in several venues from having her own firm, to working for small firms, to working at an immigration non-profit agency to teaching immigration law to attorneys and paralegals in the South Bay. She is currently Of Counsel at the Law Offices of Daniel Shanfield - Immigration Defense, PC., where she handles the most interesting cases for the firm - from successfully representing an Afghani woman rights activist applying for asylum to successfully representing a Salvadoran man in deportation proceedings after having been convicted of first degree burglary. In her spare time she runs a free monthly legal clinic at Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley through a partnership with the American Immigration Lawyers Association at the Jewish Community Center of Los Gatos. Merle is married to an engineer and they have two school-aged children.
