The main branch of the city's public library system is in a new, three-story building just west of El Camino RealMore downtown. There's a third-floor cafe where patrons can enjoy coffee and baked goods and the proceeds benefit the library system. The main branch is open seven days a week. It has computer workstations, and books, DVDs and other media can be reserved online. There is some free parking on the street and in a nearby lot.

This well-maintained branch library is in a quiet, residential area on the western edge of the Hillsdale GardensMore apartment/townhouse complex. It has a selection of books and reference materials for adults and children, as well as computer terminals for public use. Patrons also can have materials brought here from the main library downtown. The branch is in a disabled-friendly mid-century building surrounded by gardens and with street parking and a lot on the side.
