It is pleasant and airy with IKEA-donated fixtures and furniture, regaining much of its original atmosphere as a respectable Edwardian-era hotel. Shelter Network facilities provide stable places from which homeless people with jobs can work, saving their money toward returning to permanent housing. Workshops and other counseling are offered on site and there is a live-in counselor. The Vendome is one of seven shelters operated by the Shelter Network.
