This is what service stations used to be like in the 50's and 60's. This family run business hasRead More retained the name "service" in their operation. Where else can you go for gasoline and have a mechanic available to check out that "odd noise" under the hood or check the engine oil level. I found them to be excellent in all types of automotive repair work ...... everything from patching a leaky tire to replacing a transmission. Highly recommended!

Bob Reed's Auto Service, 1641 Palm Ave (behind Safeway store). This is what service stations used toRead More be in the 50's and 60's. This family run business has retained the name "service" in their operation. Where else can you go for gasoline and have a mechanic available to check out that "odd noise" under the hood or check the engine oil level. Their gasoline prices may be a few cents more than the big self-serve stations but you also won't need to sit in line for 15 minutes waiting to refuel. I also found them to be excellent in all of the mechanical repair work I've had them perform; everything from patching a leaky tire to replacing a transmission. Highly recommended!

The best has to be Coppa Osteria on B St. Not your typical pasta and meatball kind of place. TheyRead More use the freshest of local produce and the pasta just melts in your mouth. Very unique menu.

Definitely it has to be Osteria Coppa. Their food is delish and probably the best ItalianRead More I’ve had in a long time. I love that they use organic products and their pasta is wonderful. The chef is very good and was from some well-known city restaurant. They also have a really good salami platter and killer pizza.
Bethani June 20, 2012 at 06:58 pm
I have to chime in for Coppa as well. They have what I think is the best pasta on the peninsula, notRead More just San Mateo. And I love the inventive pizzas.
