Founded by Peninsula resident Marion Panaretos, the San Mateo Arboretum Society is a membership and volunteer-based organization dedicated to the preservation of San Mateo’s horticultural heritage. The historic Kohl Pump House in Central Park and the Rose Garden are the main areas of activities. The society offers gardening seminars and workshops, a free plant clinic, a newsletter and an annual garden tour among other activities.
