Design Tech Presentation TONIGHT

Dt designtech High School

We Won!
d.tech is excited to announce that we won a $225K State planning grant. This money is given to new schools with a compelling educational program to help cover start-up costs.

SMUHSD Board Meeting
We are on the SMUHSD board agenda on Thursday, March 27th. As supporters of d.tech, it would be great if you could attend the meeting. It begins at 7:00pm at the SMART Center/San Mateo Adult School, 789 East Poplar, San Mateo. Here is a link to the Board Agenda so that you can anticipate when they will be addressing our requests. We are on the agenda for two reasons:

1) We submitted a letter to the district requesting additional funding which is under board consideration.  Currently the district per pupil allocation is approximately $14,000 per student.  The state requirement is for the district to allocate for us approximately $8,712 per student.  We are requesting that the district allocate $12,000 per student for in-district students.

2) The district has responded to our request for additional classrooms at Mills.  We requested 8 classrooms; they have offered us 5.

Still Accepting Applications
Most of the students who were offered admission to d.tech have accepted. Additionally, we had a second lottery last week, and were happy to extend offers to students who had applied after the first deadline. We will continue to accept applications for admission/the wait list throughout the spring. Our next deadline is April 7 for a lottery on April 10. If you have submitted an application and have not received confirmation, please email Christy at cknott@dtechhs.org.

Thanks for all your support in making this dream a reality.
