VIDEO: Peninsula Gymnastics to Host Mikhail's Navy Competition

Hundreds of girls from across Northern California will head to San Mateo for the competition on Sept. 11.

Hundreds of girls from across Northern California will head to San Mateo for the Mikhail's Navy Competition on Sept. 11.

To pay tribute to the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at the ceremony Peninsula Gymnastics will do the following:

  1. All Attendees and Gymnasts will receive a red, white, and blue ribbon upon entrance
  2. We will honor all servicemen, servicewomen and veterans during the Opening ceremony.
  3. There will be a moment of silence Observed during the Opening Ceremony.
  4. The gymnasts will carry out the American Flag in a Ceremony to the National Anthem.
  5. We will have a box for Donations for to The Twin Towers Orphan Fund. (A portion of the Proceeds from the meet will also be donated to this fund.)

The Twin Towers Orphan Fund was founded on September 11, 2001 for the sole purpose of providing educational and welfare assistance to the children who were orphaned (who lost one or both parents) by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The mission of the Twin Towers Orphan Fund is to provide long-term higher educational assistance and mental and physical healthcare assistance for (a) children who lost parents in the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, or onboard the four downed airliners, and (b) children of victims of future terrorist attacks.
