Gryphons Celebrate Fall Tournament Success

'02 Red Boys' Team Wins Second Place at Breakers Halloween Cup

The '02 Boys Red team won 2nd place, losing 1st place in overtime in the final game at the 2011 Santa Cruz Breakers Halloween Cup. The boys got to the final undefeated with 5-1, 7-2, 2-0 wins over their opponents. Coach Orhan received many compliments from onlookers on the team's performance and the individual skills of the players.

'98 Black Girls' Team Wins Second Place at Breakers Halloween Cup

The GSC '98 Black girls team (U13) won the Gold level championship at the 2011 Soccer By The Bay Tournament. The team went undefeated throughout the tournament, beating Stockton Storm 1-0 in the final game.

'99G Red Girls' Team Takes SoccerPalooza Championship

The Gryphons '99 Red girls team (U12) won the 2011 SoccerPalooza Tournament, held Sept 24-25. The team battled to win all four games, scoring 14 goals and allowing 5. The final match ended in regulation time with a 2-2 tie, and sent the teams into Penalty Kicks. The Gryphons girls prevailed and won the game 5-3, becoming the 2011 SoccerPalooza U-12 Champions. Congratulations to Coach Ricardo Marta, Jr., and the team for playing some great soccer.

About the Gryphons Soccer Club

The Gryphons Soccer Club (GSC) is a non-profit organization that promotes youth soccer on the San Francisco Peninsula in California. Players come from towns all over the San Francisco Peninsula, including Belmont, San Carlos, San Mateo, Foster City, Redwood City, San Francisco and the South Bay.
