Tri-School Productions students from Serra, Mercy and Notre Dame will present "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" this weekend in the Serra Gellert Auditorium.

The show is a hilarious, fast-paced romp through the Bard's catalog.

"The play presents Shakespeare in funny situations," said Director Darva Campbell. "There is a lot of clever banter, which allows the students to shine."

Mercy junior Maggie Eichler, who plays Ditz, said her character thinks she's smart but really has no clue about most things.

"Joining Tri-School Productions has been great for me," Eichler added. "Everyone is super welcoming. It's such a friendly environment, and everyone is so happy to be here."

NDB freshman Cailyn Olson (Queen Elizabeth) agreed. She said joining the Tri-School cast has enabled her to meet new people. Serra junior Nate Zaslove has his work cut out for him - he stars as Ophelia, Juliet, Cressida and Cleopatra.

"It's been challenging for me, since I don't have any of their traits," Zaslove said. "It's a very funny, interactive play that engages the crowd. As teenagers, we sometimes make fun of Shakespeare. This show makes Shakespeare relatable - it's funny and students will get the jokes."

Zaslove added that Tri-School Productions has enabled him to meet students from Mercy and Notre Dame, and he enjoys the camaraderie of the cast.

"Nobody is ever negative," he noted. "Everyone encourages you to do your best. It's such a positive group and we are like a big family."

Fall play performances will be held on October 25 and 26; and November 1 and 2.  The show will begin each night at 7:30 p.m. in the Serra Gellert Auditorium. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.
