Adopt YOUR San Mateo Avenue Tree

The City of San Bruno’s Beautification Task Force:

About the Beautification Task Force

The Beautification Task Force supports and advocates a public arts policy, tree ordinances, and other Council policies that encourage the beautification of the City. The Task Force also organizes several City-wide events including Operation Clean Sweep ( held the first Saturday in May each year) and the Beautification Awards. They also serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council. For information on upcoming events call the Beautification Task Force at 650-616-7145.

One of their projects, in conjunction with the San Bruno Chamber of Commerce, is to try and get businesses along San Mateo Avenue between Taylor and San Bruno Avenue to adopt the City installed container tree near or in-front of their business.  The City will plant appropriate, low water needed, plants around the tree and all the business needs to do is commit to remove garbage that may show up.

Accompanying this article is a photo of a un-flower planted tree container and a flower planted tree container.  Which container looks better?

Councilmember Irene O’Connell - E=Mail at  ioconnell@sanbruno.ca.gov or the Beautification Task Force can be contacted at 650-616-7145 to learn how YOU can adopt your tree.
