The polls for the Presidential Primary Election will open Tues., June 5 at 7:00 a.m., but many local voters choose to cast their votes ahead of time with mail-in ballots.
California law also allows voters to cast their ballot any time during the 29 day period preceding an election at the Elections Office.
According to Mark Church, San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, for mail-in ballots to be counted, they must be received by the Elections Office on or before Election Day by 8:00 p.m. (Postmark does not matter; ballot must be RECEIVED by 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.)
