Share Your Ideas for Downtown San Mateo

Whimsical bike racks? Mystery knitted items? Parking meters for public art? It's no wonder San Mateo is such a great place to live.

It's no secret that downtown San Mateo is a great place for residents.

Look at the mystery knitted items that popped up downtown earlier this summer. Or the parking meters that turned into public art. Or the unique, whimsical bicycle racks that hit the streets for Bike to Work Day!

Well, here's another great thing your city is working on.

Earlier this summer, the city of San Mateo launched a campaign at San Mateo Town Hall to generate ideas about how the San Mateo community would like to see Downtown San Mateo evolve.

The survey, launched in partnership with the Downtown San Mateo Association, gave many community members a chance to share what they like best about the downtown, what they would like to see improve, as well as the types of events to attend and businesses to support.

The city would now like to further refine the responses and invite residents to participate in the follow-up survey

The survey includes six questions, and it should only take about 10 minutes to complete. Your response will help to inform the city's economic development program, can be used to help guide downtown projects, and assist with business attraction and retention efforts.

If you have questions or comments about the survey, or the Town Hall campaign, please email Rebecca Zito, Management Analyst, City of San Mateo at rzito@cityofsanmateo.org.
