State budget cuts have forced the San Mateo County Superior Court clerk's office to reduce its public service hours beginning Feb. 4, court officials announced.
The changes are a direct result of state-imposed budged cuts to the county trial courts of more than $1 billion over the past five years, court officials said.
Public service hours for civil, small claims, family law, probate and juvenile court will be Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Traffic and criminal public service hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The records division will continue to be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday but will close at noon on Fridays. Phone hours for all offices will be Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Document drop boxes are located outside each clerk's office for filing papers or submitting payments.
