The 14th Congressional District Advisory Boards take in students from San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.

Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Palo Alto, is inviting high school students from San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties to apply for Student Advisory Boards.

Founded by Eshoo in 1993, the Boards have researched various public policy issues and made recommendations for federal legislation on a number of of issues, including campaign finance and election reforms, education and gun control.

“Every voice matters – that’s why I formed the Student Advisory Boards when I first took office,” Eshoo said in a statement.

“Each year, the Board participants make policy recommendations on Congressional issues.  As the future leaders of our country, students have the opportunity to take an active role in public policy and have their voices heard. I encourage high school students in California’s 14th Congressional District to apply to serve on one of the Boards,” she said.

Students on the Boards meet twice a month for most of the school year and present their policy recommendations to Eshoo in May.
