SamTrans Announces Bus Stop Change at Hillsdale Mall

Current stop will be moved one block to the west, near Edison Street on W. Hillsdale Boulevard, effective March 20.

Bus riders taking SamTrans to will soon notice a minor alteration to service there: The old stop near the mall on West Hillsdale Boulevard will soon be relocated one block to the west.

The move, which is due to the , begins on Sunday, March 20. After that date, riders must board and disembark at Hillsdale Boulevard just before Edison Street, near the at 61 W Hillsdale Blvd.

The following routes will be affected by the bus stop change:

  • Route 54 westbound
  • Route 250 southbound
  • Route 251 eastbound/westbound
  • Route 262 northbound/southbound
  • Route 294 northbound

In addition, southbound Route 295 will no longer stop at West Hillsdale Boulevard. Instead, customers will board and disembark at the stop located on El Camino Real, just south of Hillsdale Boulevard near the bookstore.

Buses currently serving Hillsdale Boulevard near -- northbound Routes 250, 292 and 295 -- will not change. Buses currently serving El Camino Real and 31st Avenue -- eastbound and southbound Routes 54, 251, 262, 294 and 295 -- will also remain unchanged.

Arrival and departure times will not be affected.

Yes, the world does not need another national chain retail store or restaurant, which is surely what they're planning to put in there.

Yes Bren, agree with you....good point.....really what it seems to come down to is money vs. theRead More good of the community and richness of traditions. And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.
