The embattled Southern California city of Bell, Calif., has hired former San Mateo City Manager Arne Croce as its interim chief administrative officer, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Croce, 60, served as San Mateo’s top administrator for 18 years and will start work in Bell on Aug. 22, the articles states.
According to the LA Times, Croce will be paid $3,230 a week and will receive no benefits.
Croce replaces Ken Hampian, former city manager of San Luis Obispo, who was appointed acting city administrator on July 27.
In the article, Hampian calls Croce “one of the most respected city managers in California.”
