Fires, Floods, Earthquakes: Are You Prepared?

San Mateo residents are invited to attend a disaster preparedness training workshop in November.

San Mateo residents are invited to attend a disaster preparedness training event next month.

The "Get Ready" training will take place Thursday, Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Beresford Recreation Center, located at 2720 Alameda de las Pulgas.

Topics at the training will include disaster-proofing your home, what you need to store for emergencies, how to shut off utiilties, and other valuable tips. The event is free of charge.

And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.
