Winter Holiday Closures

Schools, city government will break at year's end.

City government

Offices and programs will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of the winter holidays and as a cost-saving measure.

City Hall, the Main Library and branch locations, and recreation centers (including the senior center) will be closed, and no services will be provided at these facilities.

The Main Library and branch locations will also be closed the week of Dec. 18 and the Japanese Tea Garden will be closed beginning on Dec. 24.

The City’s public safety and emergency services will not be affected by this closure as fire stations, the police station, and other emergency service facilities will remain open during this time.

County government

County library: Dec. 23 will close at 5 p.m. Also closed Dec. 24, 25, 26, and Dec. 31.

The courts and county offices will be open except for Dec. 26 (Christmas Day observed) and Jan. 2 (New Years Day observed).

San Mateo-Foster City School District

Schools operating on a traditional schedule (Audubon, Baywood, Foster City, Highlands, Horrall, Laurel, Meadow Heights, North Shoreview, San Mateo Park, Sunnybrae; Borel, and Bowditch) will break from Dec. 19 - Jan.

Year-round schools (Beresford, George Hall, Fiesta Gardens, Parkside, Brewer Island, College Park, Abbott, Bayside STEM Academy) will break from Dec. 19 - Jan. 6.

San Mateo Union High School District will break from Dec. 22, 2011 to Jan. 9, 2012

San Mateo County Community College District campuses will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2.
