San Bruno Grade Separation Project
Work on the grade separation project continues with utilities work and a temporary detour. There will be a temporary detour of the right-turning traffic on northbound Huntington Avenue to northbound San Mateo Avenue. The detour will be in effect from Monday, Dec. 3, until Friday Dec. 7, from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Motorists heading northbound on Huntington to San Mateo Avenue will be able to take a right turn onto San Bruno Avenue, turn left onto 2nd Avenue, and turn left on Walnut Street.
Day work, which includes digging with a backhoe and mini-excavator, will be done from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will excavate, install utility infrastructure, place concrete panels using a crane and pour concrete. Crews will use medium and heavy duty diesel vehicles to transport dirt and concrete.
Night work will occur from Sunday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 7, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Crews will pour concrete and use a crane to place concrete panels.
The $147 million project will elevate the Caltrain tracks above three existing at-grade street crossings at San Bruno, San Mateo and Angus Avenues. A new elevated Caltrain station between San Bruno and San Mateo Avenues will replace the station at Sylvan Avenue. Work on this project will not disrupt Caltrain service.

Maintenance
Caltrain will perform routine maintenance at several locations next week. To avoid delays to passengers, the work will take place Saturday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be some construction noise but crews will work as quietly as possible. San Francisco to San Jose
Saturday, Dec. 1, through Friday, Dec. 7, crews will power wash and perform janitorial work at Caltrain stations between the San Francisco and Tamien stations. Monday, Dec. 3, through Thursday, Dec. 6, crews will operate a heavy duty on-track vehicle to test rail equipment.
San Francisco to Millbrae
Monday, Dec. 3, and Tuesday, Dec. 4, crews will weld and grind tracks between the Bayshore and Millbrae stations.
Millbrae to Hayward Park
Monday, Dec. 3, through Thursday, Dec. 6, crews will operate medium duty on-track machinery to remove and replace ties between the Millbrae and Hayward Park stations.
Millbrae to San Mateo
Sunday, Dec. 2, crews will weld and grind tracks between the Millbrae and Hayward Park stations.
Menlo Park to Mountain View
Sunday, Dec. 2, through Thursday, Dec. 6, crews will operate medium duty on-track machinery to remove and replace ties between the Menlo Park and Mountain View stations.
