Aragon High Coach Suspected of Sexually Assaulting Student Posts Bail

Joshua Tatro was arrested Friday and posted bail later that night.

The coach Friday for allegedly touching a female student inappropriately posted bail later that night and is due back in court in July, a deputy district attorney said Monday.

The arraignment for Joshua Tatro, 25, is scheduled for July 5 at 9 a.m. in South San Francisco court, Chief Deputy District Attorney Karen Guidotti said.

Tatro posted $25,000 bail at about 8 p.m. Friday after he was taken into custody without incident earlier that day, following a weeks-long investigation into the incident.

Authorities believe Tatro, who has worked as a water polo/swim coach at Aragon High School for the past year, had "inappropriate sexual contact" with a female student.

The student, a juvenile, said that during the past year, Tatro had "touched her inappropriately, according to San Mateo police.

The incident was first reported to school officials, who immediately contacted the San Mateo Police Department.

Tatro, an El Granada resident, was booked into San Mateo County Jail on one count of sexual assault on a minor and one count of lewd acts with a minor.

Guidotti said the district attorney's office hadn't filed charges against Tatro as of Monday morning and her office was still waiting to receive the police report.

I see that I meant to type "...that connect us to the past," but I accidentally typedRead More "...and connect us to the past." I think my meaning came through, though. Yes, the world does not need another national chain retail store or restaurant, which is surely what they're planning to put in there.

Yes Bren, agree with you....good point.....really what it seems to come down to is money vs. theRead More good of the community and richness of traditions. And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.

I think the issue is much larger than whether children will experience stress. That ice rink is aRead More local institution, dating back at least to when Fashion Island was there. It's terrible for communities to lose so many landmarks and connect us to the past.

Dear Ari, Thank you for your service to our community. It's wonderful that you are already making aRead More difference.
