Tonight’s San Mateo City Council agenda is likely to be dominated by the 2011-12 city budget, which will be presented to council members in a public hearing.
Council members are expected to hear input from the city finance director – as well as the public, if residents wish to make a statement – but no final action will take place tonight. The council is expected to schedule an adoption of the budget at its June 20 meeting two weeks from now.
City officials have said they believe the budget items will take up most of tonight's meeting. Other items include establishing this fiscal year's sewer base rate, and a ceremonial swearing-in of new committee and commission members.
The meeting begins tonight at 7 p.m. in the council chambers of , 330 W 20th Ave.
