The California Highway Patrol is investigating an abandoned vehicle that crashed into a utility pole on state Highway 92 near the San Mateo Bridge in Hayward early Thursday morning.
At 2:30 a.m. CHP received a report from a passing motorist that there was a vehicle that had collided with a PG&E pole.
CHP said the vehicle was located just off the roadway of eastbound state Highway 92, near the San Mateo Bridge toll plaza.
When CHP officers arrived at the scene, the vehicle had been abandoned.
As of Thursday morning, the CHP had not determined when the vehicle crashed or who was driving the vehicle.
