Two-Car Crash Prompts Jaws of Life Rescue

The crash occurred in San Mateo at about 9:35 a.m. Wednesday.

A two-car crash in San Mateo Wednesday morning sent a man to the hospital with minor injuries after emergency responders used the Jaws of Life to pry him from his car, a fire battalion chief said.

Around 9:35 a.m., a vehicle T-boned another car at the intersection of West 29th Avenue and Beresford Street, Fire Battalion Chief Mike Borean said.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate one car's driver, Borean said.

The man suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, he said.

No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation.
