A 17-year-old boy was hit by a car in Belmont Monday morning while attempting to run away from police, according to Belmont police Lt. Patrick Halleran.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in a business in the 800 block of El Camino Real at about 9:45 a.m., police said. The storeowner said that several displays of merchandise were knocked over during an altercation with his teenage son, who was wanted by police on an outstanding arrest warrant, police said.
Officers searched the area and spotted the boy near Ralston Avenue and El Camino Real at about 10:15 a.m. In an apparent attempt to evade police, the teenager ran into traffic on Ralston Avenue and was struck by a 75-year-old Belmont woman driving a Jaguar. The woman was not injured in the collision. The boy was able to get up and continued to run through traffic, police said.

He was found a short time later hiding behind a dumpster in a parking lot Between Ralston and Emmett avenues. The teenager, whose name was withheld because of his age, apparently resisted arrest and had to be subdued with a Taser, police said. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries he suffered when struck by the Jaguar, police said. The suspect was subsequently booked into San Mateo County Juvenile Hall for the outstanding arrest warrant and resisting arrest.
