A San Mateo man has been arrested on burglary charges after the victim of a burglary located and identified his stolen bicycle in the suspect's possession, San Mateo police said.
The bicycle, a unique road bike worth more than $5,000, was stolen from an open garage on the first block of Lyonridge Lane on Oct. 4, according to police.
After locating his bicycle, the victim contacted police, and detectives used a ruse to lure the suspect and recover the bicycle.
Police arrested Matthew Ramirez, 23, of San Mateo on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
Police continue to investigate leads into other residential burglaries committed over the last few weeks.
Residents who see anything suspicious in their neighborhoods are strongly encouraged to call police.
Urgent calls should be made to 911, while non-emergency calls should be made to (650) 522-7700.
