Small Boy Injured After Fall From Window

A little boy sustained “potentially life threatening” injuries after taking a fall from a high window in a residence on W. 38th Avenue near Beresford Street in San Mateo, police said.

The 17-month-old boy fell on Thursday afternoon from a window about 12 or 14 feet off the ground, according to San Mateo police spokesman Sgt. Dave Norris.

“He was conscious upon arrival of police/medics and was immediately transported to the nearest trauma center,” Norris said.

He added that the incident appears to be accidental and there is no evidence of foul play.

Little more was known about the incident, and the child’s status was not immediately available.
