San Mateo Police to Wait Tables for Charity

The Police Department's annual Tip-A-Cop event to raise money for the Special Olympics will take place Saturday at Red Robin.

It's that time of year again -- when you go out to dinner and find a police officer is your waiter.

That's right, the San Mateo Police Department will once again wait tables at a selected restaurant to earn tips, which they will donate to the Special Olympics.

This year, the Tip-A-Cop event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Red Robin at the Bridgepointe Shopping Center, located at 2204 Bridgepointe.
