San Mateo Man Attacked in Redwood City

Two men physically assaulted the victim with a beer bottle, then stole his jewelry.

A 20-year-old San Mateo man was attacked Tuesday night by two men with a beer bottle on 5th Avenue in unincorporated Redwood City, according to the .

The victim was walking alone at approximately 9:30 p.m. underneath the 5th Avenue and William Avenue overpass when he observed two males standing at the guardrail.

As he walked past them, the two males began to physically assault him and tore two gold necklaces off the victim’s neck.

The two males then hit the victim over the head with a beer bottle, knocking him to the ground.

Both suspects then fled on foot north on William Avenue.

Suspect 1 was described as 5’9” approximately 170 pounds in his mid-twenties. He has pale skin and facial hair under his bottom lip. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Suspect 2 was described as 5’9” approximately 170 pounds in his early-twenties. He was wearing a black baseball cap and two earrings, as well as a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
