(BCN) A San Mateo man was killed while riding his motorcycle Tuesday evening through a county park near Woodside.

The motorcyclist was identified as Stewart Sutter, 32, of San Mateo, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

He braked hard, after which the motorcycle left the roadway and traveled up a sloped shoulder. The rider and motorcycle were launched into the air and collided with a tree. He was then ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway, officials said.

He suffered fatal injuries after the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

On a Facebook page that was made by Motion Pro, Inc. staff where Sutter appears to have worked as a motorcycle specialist, an online memorial has been set up, with pictures and prayers for his family and friends.

"It was easy to tell when he was around because laughter and merriment would soon follow...he will be greatly missed by all here, and never forgotten," staff at the San Carlos-based company wrote Wednesday afternoon.

If anyone witnessed this collision, please contact CHP Officer W. Torr at (650) 369-6261.
