San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League Hosts Fundraising Event

The Great Cause Cioppino & Comedy night will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League will present it’s first Annual Good Claws - Great Cause Cioppino & Comedy night on Wednesday, Oct. 24th.

At this event the league will honor the Sequoia Healthcare District with the SAL Leadership Award and Sister Christina, of the St. Francis Center, with the Compassion Award.

The Good Claws - Great Cause event will take place at Sparky’s Hot Rod Garage in San Carlos at 6 p.m.

The proceeds from this event will support SAL’s delinquency prevention programs in San Mateo County.

Tickets are $100 per person. Table sponsor opportunities are available as well asadvertising space in our tribute book.

The cioppino dinner, provided by The Fish Market, includes salad, garlic bread, seafood cioppino and pasta. Wine will be provided ateach table.

The comedian, Dan St. Paul, has been a top national comic for years and has appeared on Comedy Central, A&E, VH1, and opened for Natalie Cole, Kenny Loggins, Ringo Starr and the San Francisco Symphony.

SAL is a non-profit community based organization that was founded in 1997 with the purpose of strengthening relationships between youth, deputies and communities to aidin the intervention and prevention of juvenile delinquency in San Mateo County through positive, dynamic programs.

SAL provides programs for over 2,500 children per year to youth 5 to 18 years old.SAL programs are offered at 12 chapters throughout San Mateo County. SAL programs address the needs of youth in 5 focus areas: Building the Bond between Cops andKids; SAL Healthy Kids; Mentoring; Leadership Training; and Character Development.
