Police Seek Witnesses to Highway 101 Shooting in San Mateo

The shooting occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. on Monday. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting is urged to contact San Mateo police.

The San Mateo Police Department is looking for witnesses to a shooting that occurred Monday night on northbound U.S. Highway 101 near the Hillsdale Boulevard exit.

The shooting is believed to have occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. Monday, San Mateo Police Sgt. Dave Norris said.

San Mateo police contacted the victim of the shooting, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, and verified multiple shots had been fired at the victim's vehicle, according to Norris.

Authorities believe one of the involved vehicles is maroon, and are continuing to pursue leads in the crime.

Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or who was driving in the area at the time of the shooting and witnessed a freeway altercation is urged to contact the San Mateo Police Department.
