Police: Redwood City Man High on Drugs Arrested at San Mateo Adult Bookstore

Police and a K9 unit found the man had a duffel bag with more than 5 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items indicating drug sales, according to police.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug possession after his car was searched outside an adult bookstore in San Mateo on Saturday evening, police said.

Police stopped the man, later identified as Redwood City resident Andrew Quintero, as he exited Jaybird Adult Books at 520 E. Third Ave. shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to police.

Quintero was found to be under the influence of drugs, police said.

Officers, with the assistance of a K-9 unit, searched his vehicle and found a duffel bag with more than 5 ounces of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items indicating drug sales, according to police.

Quintero was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs, possession of drugs for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and committing a crime while out on bail for another offense.
