Off-Duty Berkeley Officer Assaulted in Burlingame

The officer was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

An off-duty Berkeley police officer was the victim of an assault this weekend in Burlingame, a Berkeley police sergeant said Monday.

The officer was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive, Sgt. Jennifer Wilson said.

Wilson said Burlingame police has the lead in the investigation, and that Berkeley police had no additional information about the incident.
