Men in Giants Masks Rob San Carlos Store

The four men allegedly threatened to use pepper spray on employees of the Home Consignment Store, then smashed jewelry cases with sledge hammers.

Four men wearing Giants masks robbed the Home Consignment Center in San Carlos on Tuesday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the the men pulled up to the store, located at 1123 Industrial Road, in a newer model Ford Mustang with paper plates.

They left the vehicle running and entered the store, wearing “San Francisco Giants” colored masks, and hooded sweat shirts.

The men were in possession of four sledge hammers and several cans of pepper spray, which they used to threaten store employees.

Once inside the store, the four men went directly to the jewelry cases and smashed the glass tops, grabbing jewelry. They then fled the store with the jewelery. Witnesses watched as the men left the scene in the Ford Mustang.

The suspect vehicle was last seen driving onto southbound Hwy. 101 from Brittan Avenue.

Witnesses on scene described the four suspects as white males, approximately 20 years old, tall and with thin builds.

Witnesses further described the suspect vehicle as a new Ford Mustang, gray in color with two black racing stripes running down the vehicle’s center. The Ford Mustang also had paper license plates.

I see that I meant to type "...that connect us to the past," but I accidentally typedRead More "...and connect us to the past." I think my meaning came through, though. Yes, the world does not need another national chain retail store or restaurant, which is surely what they're planning to put in there.

Yes Bren, agree with you....good point.....really what it seems to come down to is money vs. theRead More good of the community and richness of traditions. And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.

I think the issue is much larger than whether children will experience stress. That ice rink is aRead More local institution, dating back at least to when Fashion Island was there. It's terrible for communities to lose so many landmarks and connect us to the past.
