Man Arrested for Spitting on Parking Officer

The San Leandro man was arrested Friday for allegedly assaulting the officer.

A San Leandro man was arrested Friday after spitting in the face of a San Mateo parking-enforcement officer, the San Mateo County Times reported Tuesday

According to information the County Times received from police, Juan Thomas, 34, became angry after finding a $40 expired meter parking ticket on his car. Thomas allegedly became angry and spit in the face of the parking officer. 

The parking officer called for help and a San Mateo police officer arrived on the scene, arresting Thomas.

Thomas was taken to a police substation and received an assault citation. If prosecutors decide to file charges against Thomas he will be due in court Nov. 3.
