Police Log, June 3-5: Woman Spots Mountain Lion in Backyard

12:57 a.m. - Auto Burglary - Occurred in the 500 block of Monte Diable Ave. and involved three males in black hoodies and blue jeans.

6:31 a.m. - Hit-and-Run - Occurred in the 1600 block of Gum St. sometime overnight; the tires were slashed and rims damaged of a red truck.

12:48 p.m. - Found Property - Occurred in the 400 block of N. Kingston St. A wallet was found and turned in.

6:31 p.m. - Auto Burglary - Occurred in the 500 block of San Mateo Drive on a gold 1994 Honda Accord.

10:34 p.m. - Animal Call - Occurred in the 4300 block of Alameda de las Pulgas. A woman said a mountain lion may have been in her backyard; it was in the tree and had green, glowing eyes.

8:46 a.m. - Commercial Burglary - Occurred in the 1800 block of Gateway Drive. TVs were reported stolen. 

1:05 p.m. - Fraud - Occurred in the 1600 block of Shoreview Ave. A person was scammed out of money.

6:20 a.m. - Auto Burglary - Occurred in the 800 block of Cypress Avenue.

9:01 a.m. - Theft - Occurred in the 600 block of Concar Drive at the 7-Eleven. A person took food and a drink and said he didn't have any money.

9:26 a.m. - Auto Burglary - Occurred in the 3100 block of El Camino Real.

11:17 p.m. - Theft - Occurred in the 1800 block of S. Grant St. A person ran out of the Trader Joe's with a Patron bottle.

5:07 p.m. - Auto Burglary - Occurred at 300 Hillsdale Mall. A gym bag was taken from a car with the victim's passport inside.

8:58 p.m. - Theft - Occurred in the 4200 block of El Camino Real. A person stole alcohol from CVS Pharmacy.

Yes, the world does not need another national chain retail store or restaurant, which is surely what they're planning to put in there.

Yes Bren, agree with you....good point.....really what it seems to come down to is money vs. theRead More good of the community and richness of traditions. And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.
