Hit-Run in Ferrari, Food Court Napping

Excerpts from the San Mateo Police Department's daily call log.

Friday, 4/29

8:40 a.m. - Theft - An employee stole money from a business on the 2600 block of South El Camino Real.

8:59 a.m. - Hit and Run - An unknown driver, possibly a white man in his 70s, in a red Ferrari hit another car near the intersection of Monte Diablo Avenue and north El Camino Real.

3:39 p.m. - Battery - A 17-year-old girl hit someone's aunt on the 800 block of Jefferson Court.

6:49 p.m. - Theft - Three men, all wearing black jackets, stole beer from a store on the 100 block of East Third Avenue.

7:09 p.m. - Battery - A parent told police that another kid beat up the parent's child on the 900 block of South Grant Street. Both kids were on scene and waiting for police.

7:24 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A parent's stepson, suffering from bipolar, was reportedly flipping out even though he had been taking his medication.

Saturday, 4/30

3:10 a.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A resident on the 100 block of West Hillsdale Boulevard heard a man screaming at a woman, who was crying during the altercation.

6:52 a.m. - Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a home on the 1300 block of Palos Verdes Drive and stole medication.

5:44 p.m. - Minor-Injury Accident - A silver Audi and a blue BMW were involved in a car accident. One was complaining of pain, while the other driver had an expired insurance policy.

9:12 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A 19-year-old man was banging on his parents' door on the 600 block of 29th Avenue and was apparently on drugs. No weapons were involved, according to police.

11:26 p.m. - Fight - Six men were involved a fight on the 100 block of North Railroad Avenue.

Sunday, 5/1

8:57 a.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A man hit the mother of his child on the 400 block of Poplar Avenue, but she refused medical attention.

9:27 a.m. - Suspicious Person - Someone was sitting at a picnic table on the 1000 block of Bermuda Drive with a backpack, medical gloves and ammo.

6:57 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A father tried to pick up his daughter on the first block of Cascade Court on a non-visitation day.

11:09 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance - A 21-year-old man was on drugs and was throwing things around the house on the 800 block of Humboldt Street.

Monday, 5/2

2:07 a.m. - Fight - Two men in a parking lot between a 7-11 and a Mexican restaurant on the 600 block of East Third Avenue got into a fight.

9:36 a.m. - Fraud - A case of check fraud was reported from the 4100 block of George Avenue. 

9:58 p.m. - Disturbance - A man wearing a black hat and jacket and beige shorts was urinating on the side of the road on the 400 block of East Hillsdale Boulevard. After he was finished, he yelled at the woman's husband who complained to him.

11:09 p.m. - Theft - An unknown suspect stole someone's checkbook from the first block of Poinsettia Avenue, along with the person's ATM card. The suspect used the ATM card after.

Tuesday, 5/3

8:15 a.m. - Burglary - Someone broke into a home on the 100 block of De Anza Boulevard and the owner suspected her husband.

8:41 a.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A man was pounding on the door of a home on the 1200 block of Dix Street, while the owner's 11-year-old daughter was home alone.

11:58 a.m. - Burglary - An unknown suspect broke into a home on the 3100 block of Del Monte Street and stole some money.

4:20 p.m. - Fraud - An unknown suspect committed $5,000 in check fraud. Reported from the 1800 block of South Grant Street.

8:06 p.m. - 911 Call - Someone called 911 from the 3000 block of La Selva Street, the dispatcher heard yelling, then the caller hung up.

9:17 p.m. - Possible DUI - Someone driving a black Cadillac almost hit some pedestrians in the crosswalk on the 100 block of Hillsdale Boulevard.

Wednesday, 5/4

8:11 a.m. - Disturbance - Someone was sleeping in the food court area in Hillsdale Mall and was asked to leave. He then went back to sleep.

3:07 p.m. - Fraud - Someone made a fraudulent purchase on a gas card on the 1700 block of Marina Court.

7:35 p.m. - Person Down - A 50-year-old man was unconscious, cold to the touch and did not seem to be breathing. His wife, or girlfriend, was crying hysterically on the scene on the 400 block of Hillcrest Road.

11:51 p.m. - Missing Person - A 25-year-old special needs individual went missing from the 1600 block of Shoreview Avenue.

Thursday, 5/5

12:54 a.m. - Disturbance - A man was in a Mexican restaurant on the 600 block of East Third Avenue, causing a disturbance by yelling at customers and workers.

9:27 a.m. - Accident - A car clipped a woman in the crosswalk at East Fourth Avenue and South B Street. She was alert and oriented after the accident.

3:47 p.m. - Stolen Car - A 1993 Honda Accord was reported stolen from a parking spot at Claremont High School on the 500 block of Poplar Avenue.

10:57 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - Someone on the 1600 block of Church Avenue reported a loud sound and then noticed someone on the side of her house.
