Hillsborough Police Seek SUV After Residents Witness Violent Incident

Hillsborough police are investigating reports of a violent argument between a man and a woman on Tuesday afternoon in which the woman was allegedly punched and forced into an SUV.

Police sent out a countywide alert about the car -- a dark-colored, older-model Nissan Pathfinder with scratches on the driver's side -- following the incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Bridge Road.

Witnesses told police that the man and woman were inside the vehicle when an argument broke out. The woman exited the car, and the argument allegedly grew violent.

Her companion, described by witnesses as a stocky man who is Pacific Islander, Hispanic or black, punched the woman and yelled at her to get back into the car, according to police.

A witness told police that the man then shoved the woman into the SUV, which was last seen heading east on Stonehedge Road.

The woman is described as a white or Hispanic woman wearing a purple shirt, with dark hair tied back in a ponytail.

Police on Wednesday were continuing to search for the victim, the suspect and the SUV. A countywide alert has been issued for all law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Hillsborough Police Department at (650) 375-7470.
