An 18-year-old Foster City man late at night and attempting to assault them has pleaded not guilty in San Mateo County Superior Court.

Justin Shing was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 25 at about 3:10 a.m., on suspicion of residential burglary, according to the Foster City Police Department.

Prosecutors say Shing is responsible for at least two other incidents involving breaking in or peeping into a victim's bedroom.

He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of residential burglary, peeping, sexual battery and possession of burglary tools, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.

In the first incident, Shing is accused of looking in the window of a 17-year-old female neighbor at 2 a.m.; in the second case, he allegedly entered the same girl's bedroom past midnight while she was sleeping, pulled back her comforter and masturbated over her.

According to prosecutors, the third incident -- which led to Shing's arrest -- involved Shing being found in the room of a 9-year-old girl at about 3 a.m.

The girl's father found Shing in his daughter's room, staring at her bed, prosecutors said. The father grabbed Shing and called police.

Shing, who has been released from custody on $100,000 bail bond, is due back in court on Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m. to set a preliminary hearing date. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims.

Hey Daniele, how do you know that he was planning on attending U.C. Irvine? I didn't see it in the article. Did you read it elsewhere, or do you know this young man?

I have to think he will be serving some sort of prison time - so maybe UC-Irvine isn't in his near future after all? And I would think he would have to register as a sex offender? Just speculating though, I don't know the answers to these questions.

It takes a District Attorney and a Judge to make the prison time and registering as sex offender. I mention the Michael Bellemur case a 23year old man having sex with a 12 year old girl he met in Burlingame at the bus stop. 7 felony counts reduced to 1 NO prison and No registering as sex offender. Michael - that is disturbing. Let's hope that's not the case here!
