Diesel Spill Now Cleaned Up

Fuel spill was found in the San Mateo Marina Lagoon earlier today.

The cleanup of a diesel spill in the San Mateo Marina Lagoon has been completed, fire officials say.

Earlier today, firefighters responded to a spill at the lagoon and requested that boaters stay away while crews worked to clean the area.

The spill happened near 1097 Seal Court, but the San Mateo Fire Department said the diesel posed no fire threat or problem with local drinking water. People who came in contact with the diesel should wash with soap and water to remove any contamination.
