UPDATE: All Lanes of San Mateo Bridge Open After Crash

The crash occurred Friday afternoon.

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: All lanes of San Mateo Bridge have been reopened following the crash, though traffic is still heavy in the area.

Multiple lanes of eastbound state Highway 92 were blocked in Foster City just before the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge Friday afternoon due to a collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision, which appeared to have caused one vehicle to catch fire, was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on the highway just east of Foster City Boulevard, according to the CHP.

The far right lane of the highway reopened at about 3:30 p.m. but the rest of the lanes remained closed. There was no estimated time for when the highway will fully reopen, CHP officials said.

Patch will update this story as more details become available.
